The Happy Africa Foundation | Always moving forward. Always giving back.

Why do we have ‘General Funds’?

As an organisation that is dedicated to sustainable development on the continent of Africa we follow a holistic approach in all of the work that we do with local communities. As a whole our organisation operates by this policy and we only see it fitting to carry it through into our child sponsorship programme.

The 29.5% which we direct to ‘General Funds’ enables us to confidently implement programmes in communities without the doubt of having to withdraw our support should donor funding cease at any stage.

The general funds are combined with other donor funds and form a general fund for all the Happy Africa Foundation school projects in Kenya. For example, to help build new classrooms, to provide text books and school equipment as well as general maintenance for the schools we support. In addition it ensures that your child receives a full year’s education, no matter from when you choose to sponsor them. (The Foundation ensures that children are supported for three full terms at school).
