The Happy Africa Foundation | Always moving forward. Always giving back.

A day in the life of an intern…

What is it you look for in a job?

Job satisfaction?
A different experience each day?
Living and working in a different culture?
365 days of sunshine (well almost!)

Imagine a job where you really feel like you are making a difference each day and helping those who are less fortunate than you.

The Internship job at The Happy Africa Foundation is just that! One day you could be out and about having meetings with schools and monitoring the children we sponsor to attend school, the next you could be helping to supervise the painting of a community hall.

Or you could be having a meeting with the Ministry of Education, giving him the good news that we have raised enough money to get 20,000 books sent over from America through “Books for Africa”. Directly after that, going on to help a little boy who suffers from spina bifida and secure a place for him at the local hospice in order to improve his nutrition so that he can have an operation he desperately needs.

If that is not enough – you could organise a talent show for the local schools we work with – 20 schools turned up to show us their talent and blew us away with their skills and the effort they had made to prepare for the show!

You will also be in charge of managing people’s donations – ensuring that every penny/cent/euro is spent according to the donors wish and to the best advantage of the communities we work in. I consider this a very important part of the job, as without the donations, none of the above would be possible!
